ABOUT ME

Mission Statement
My First love is to teach. To share the extraordinary experience I have had making music. Music is truly an international language. It has the ability to create bridges and bonds that rise above all other differences.  The joy of making music is something that can transform both the players and those who hear it.  To share this rich and wonderful experience with a younger generation of players is a great honor, privilege and joy.  Seeing the transformation of young lives by a rich environment of positive music making is a remarkable experience; to be a part of this transformation is a privilege.

Whenever you are considering lessons of any sort, it is good to consider the history and experience of the instructor your considering.  Paul Dagle, who has over 40 years of experience, has a proven background.

    THE BEGINNING
Paul began his violin studies at the age of 4. He progressively studied privately with violinists, going from city to state to region until entering into the professional realm. His Teachers included Ilza Niemack, a student of Leopold Auer for whom Tchaikovsky wrote His Violin Concerto,  Ivan Galamian, Dr Isaac Otrow and John Celentano.

His accomplishments include: performing most of the major violin concertos in the standard repertoire, recitals, chamber music, performing widely throughout the Midwest and Eastern Seaboard, including the Black Hills Fine Arts Festival, Morningside College Music Festival, University of Wisconsin Music Festival, University of Iowa String Symposium, Master Classes with Isaac Stern, Yehudi Menuhin, Charles Treger, among others. He also performed the following musicals: How to Succeed in Business without really trying, Hello Dolly, My Fair Lady, Sound of Music, Lil' Abner, Oliver, and On a Clear Day.  He also participated in studio recordings of Sibelius 4th Symphony, Tchaikovsky 6th Symphony, Handel Theodosia Overture and made 12 recordings.  All this before the age of 19.

In 1994, Paul had a serious car accident.  The car laid on his left arm for 14 hours.  He spent many months recovering.  During this time he faced the strong possibility of complete amputation of his left arm. A half year later he was learning to write again.  He was told that he would never be able to play.  After years of work, he is thankful to be able to teach and play here in Key West.
